Earthdance believes that increasing women’s access to quality education, meaningful employment, land and other resources is vital to the sustainable development and evolution of humanity in the 21st century and beyond.

I am super duper amped to see Cooks! Every time I hear her name mentioned it’s in connection to playing a super awesome live set! She has a reputation for delivering awesome psy every time! I am so stoked that I can see her live. I’m even more stoked because Earthdance is such a special festival. The idea of uniting the world for peace through dance is so powerful. An important part of the Earthdance cause is that it is a truly international event. It stands for peace and love on a worldwide scale encouraged through the beauty of music and dance. This is not only what the event stands for but it is what it actively develops through donations to charities. No matter how small a percentage one person is to this event, that one person is an active contributor to the Earthdance cause for peace and love. This year the focus is on empowering women. Supporting this event is supporting the women in our planet earth who do so much for us. This is what Earthdance stands for to me and it is what I would love more than anything to be able to support.

Earthdance is possibly the most innovative and inspiring festival in the world. It brings people together from all walks of life who may or may not have the same mind set before the event. One thing is for sure, everyone will leave Nekkies on Sunday afternoon with the aim of enriching their lives and others around them for the better through peace,love, unity and respect.There is nothing better than walking onto that dancefloor and seeing peoples faces light up with excitement when their favorite song is being played by one of Cape Towns finest Psychedelic artists whilst covered from head to toe in mud. The fact that there are 300 in over 60 countries simultaneously is simply amazing. I don’t know of any other organization that strives to bring people together like earthdance does. Earthdance to me is about experiencing the feeling of ultimate unity in the form of love, peace, freedom and just being one’s true self and sharing the moment with complete strangers internationally who are on the same wavelength. I am so glad this year is all about the majestic goddess us women truly are and focusing on women in general as we have had the slack between the sexes of the centuries because we are strong and equal and need to be appreciated on different scales too
big up’s to the organisers for the theme! Earthdance is about bringing together people from different backgrounds and informing them more about our beautiful Mother Gaia and lending a helping hand out because us humans as a species are only a small spec that is having more of an influence than we should on our earth on a much larger evolutionary scale. So bring around the peace and unite us with our animal self’s that we all have inside ourselves so that we can connect with the other souls of nature.
Top female DJ? Hawt damn! That’s practically impossible with a lineup that comprises some of South Africa’s most epic female spinners. How does one decide between the likes of Cooks, Emma X, Sway, Tune Raider and Sideshow?
Thank Goodness it’s a 3-day extravaganza with multiple stages, so hopefully we won’t need to choose between them. However, if forced to choose, I’d say my most anticipated female set for Earthdance 2012 is Tune Raider. She pretty much embodies the spirit of one of my favourite quotes by Marilyn Monroe: “I don’t mind living in a man’s world, as long as I can be a woman in it.”
And let’s be honest – she’s certainly made a fierce and glamorous stamp in a traditionally male-dominated profession.
What does Earthdance represent internationally? I get how everyone is going to say peace, love, unity and respect for all – but I think it’s so much more than that. In fact, so much ballsier than that! It’s a determined and relentless revolution to change the oppressive mindsets limiting communities from around the world. Through persistent hard work and tireless teams of selfless volunteers and organisers, the Earthdance initiative is a bold salute to the ruthless domination of the universe by our new and improved PLUR solar system!

Earthdance is by far the best outdoor. Its brings together all the party animals from all the different scenes into one massive kraal of craziness for an entire weekend all over the world. There cannot be another festival, event or even political party in the world that could bring together so many different people from so many different backgrounds to share such an epic and unique experience.

When I first walked into the trance scene Tune Raider was the first act I saw! Couldn’t believe it was a female dj at first but after the drop of the first beat it made me realize how insane she was!!
Since this year we celebrate the year of the woman, it is only appropriate that we celebrate it in mother Gaia’s awesome arena that is Earthdance. The Earthdance events celebrate such significant moments that have occurred throughout history by bringing cultures and lifestyles together for the largest spiritual meeting to celebrate unity through music!
The significance is that it happens around the world at different venues but celebrating the exact same cause to act as a compound worldwide effect.

SWAY has never ever failed to disappoint! As far as female DJs go, she definitely shows who’s boss. I’m also looking forward to Emma-X though – not the greatest name, but I’ve heard very good things!
What does Earthdance stand for internationally? The same thing that psychedelic trance and culture is about: connecting people! Global unity – one moment, one song, one global connection. It can be corny, but it can also be incredibly powerful!
As far as SA goes, Earthdance Cape Town is also about high quality production, a predictably enjoyable party, and a great party environment, respecting the principles of PLUR!
I would have to say DJ SIDESHOW! She knows how to set the vibe with her crazy skills, she is a women that inspires men! Iv never been able to afford EARTHDANCE so this would be my first time! Looks like such an amazing vibe! -keeping fingers crossed-

DJ Tune Raider most definitely! She was the first female DJ I ever saw and watching her jam up there completely blew my mind as she was absolutely amazing, and in my opinion much better than some male artists. She inspired me to start making my own music, mainly trance, and her beautiful beats have continued to motivate me.
Earthdance is the most beautiful trance event of the year, it is not just a trance party, as it holds so much more meaning behind it – the true meaning of a trance festival, which has been lost on so many other trance festivals. The feeling of unity is what hit me when I came to my first Earthdance, the feeling that we are all one with everything and that no one and nothing was trying to hurt or harm anything else. I felt at peace while I was there and even after I left my whole mindset had changed. That first Earthdance changed me in a way that focused on how important it is for the human race to realise that we are one with this world, we are all equal.
I would do anything to go back there and bring more people with me to inspire and motivate them. The organisers of Earthdance are doing a wonderful thing and I hope that everyone who goes to this festival comes away with the same mindset I do.
