The Astral Afrika crew are very proud to present ‘Sounds of the Cosmos v2.0) Last year was the first year we hosted this event however the Gwaing River Mouth has played host to countless beautiful events over the years and we are very fortunate and privileged to be able to continue this tradition.
This year we have assembled a monster line-up catering for a wide variety of styles ensuring that there is something for everyone. Homegrown wonderkind Adam Metcalf AKA HEADROOM will be performing on Sunday afternoon, an artist that has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years and continues to rock the biggest festivals in Psytrance across the globe. He is ably supported by some of South Africa’s leading daytime DJ’s – Tune Raider (Spectral Records), Bruce (Spectral Records), Satori (One Foot Groove) and The Skragg (Nexus-Media). As a special treat we have European Techno artist’s Tony Varga and Marc Maya performing this year. Both these artists have huge profiles abroad and we look forward to their sexi funki minimal tekno . This year we have a twilight armada on our hands with some of Cape Town’s regulars gracing our shores – Biorhythm, Rubix Qube, Rabdom L, Skarab, Archive, Strain, Chemoboy, Eqlipse, Distorted Culture and Sonic Assault. Portugese Djane Myzo and Hiyarant (SA) from Disasterpiece Records complete the twilight attack. Paralocks (Noise Poison) and Fright Rate (Cryptic Symmetry)headline the Darkspy/Hitekk genre and will be performing on both nights. And then to fuse all these sounds together we have a blend of Formul8, Xueno, Psytist, E-Mind and many more….

Take N2 to George, Take Pacaltsdorp off ramp onto Yorke st and turn right towards Pacaltsdorp. Carry on straight untill the road becomes a dirt road. After about 2km’s look for signs and turn right towards the venue, keep following the signs for a further 3kms till gate of venue.

So excited to make a trip to the G-Route (my home) with some mates. Have heard that Astral Afrika is one of the BEST jols there is, an amazing lineup and an incredible venue!

What I like most about the party is that it has a full-spectrum line-up which allows us to enjoy everything about psytrance. From melody to dark thumping basslines, eerie leads, you name it!
If i had to choose the acts that I’m looking most forward to, it would have to be all the artists from the Garden Route as I have’t heard any of them before. Also, all the international acts look killer for sure but everyone makes the party special.
A-Rab going to rock mine and wifeys socks off! Ofcoarse the usual Tune raider and headroom sets to end off sum killer stomping with the sand inbetween my toes <3 PLUR.see u ther whether i win or not.#amped

I cannot wait to enjoy this weekend with some of my closest Psy Family and Friends.
Besides my usual favourites: Rabdom L (The Skragg), Bruce, Rubix Qube, Hiyarant – the acts that are making me salivate has to be Paralocks (as I am yet to him play), Sonic Assault and Ozmali.
OH and of course – who could ever count out Headroom.

Have heard ONLY delicious things about the Gwaing Festivals but have till now always missed them, being a broad traveller!
Ive been to the River mouth at its most peaceful, however I would LOVE to see it COME ALIVE with the Full Power Energetic sets of Tune Raider, Headroom & Paralocks!! My blood is already skipping with excitement!
