What to do, what to do

Summer is definately well on its way  (although you’d never say based on today’s nice rainy weather) and things are really starting to hot up in Cape Town party-wise.

This weekend you are literally SPOILED for choice over what to do. Seriously, if you don’t go to at least ONE of these parties this weekend we’re never talking to you again… ever.

Thursday 5th November-

This evening marks the grand finale for the 1000 Drawings exhibition where everyone’s donated drawings (there is still one last chance for you to go and scribble) are sold to the public for R100 each to raise funds for Write on Africa, Lucca Leadership, Paballo Ya Batho and Princess Alice Adoption Home. Its for a good cause and you get the chance to “draw anything on anything with anything”. It starts at 6pm at the Word of Art Gallery at 66 Albert Road, Woodstock.

Then of course tonight there’s the launch of Pure Filth at the Temple. This is what Cape Town has been waiting for in terms of music and entertainment. The entry fee and drinks are minimal, the people are going to be up for it and the music is definately going to be FILTHY! Hope to see all of you there tonight!!!

Friday 6th November

Then on Friday we’ve got the band that nearly every single South African luuurrvvess to bits- GOLDFISH back in their home town for a performance that promises to blow everyone away. I shouldnt have to convince you that its worth while going to see them!

Party’s at Assembly, 61 Harrington Street and doors open at 9pm.

Saturday night also sees the end of an era in Cape Town with the FTV demolition party. They’re closing down for a little bit for renovations and a general spruce up and from what i’ve heard from the new manager its going to come back a zillion times better when they re-open in a few weeks. This one is really going to get messy and I know there wont be a shortage of FTV regulars bringing the house down!!!

With the end of parties at FTV for a while, comes the birth of another party night in Cape Town called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang at nowhere other than the Bang Bang Club in Loop Street. These guys know how to throw a party and if you’re looking for a more relaxed jol this one could be the winner. Not that the music is going to be relaxed though
