Tweet for Tea with the Twitter-activated sampling machine from BOS

I always like to feature cool activations that marry the digital and real World, seamlessly- this is one of them. BOS Ice Tea launched the world’s first Twitter-activated sampling machine at Wembley Square in Cape Town earlier today.

BEV, the whirling, bleeping, buzzing BOS Ice Tea-vending robot (I like that they named it), made her debut appearance at the 2012 Design Indaba. You basically used tokens to trigger the process of getting a free tea while the machine made noises and showed you how everything inside worked with nifty little cameras.

Now BEV can respond to Tweets, delivering a refreshing BOS Ice Tea whenever a tweet is posted with her unique hashtag. I can’t tell what the #tag is right now- you’re going to have to find that at the machine. Find BEV at Wembley Square, Cape Town, next to Sinn’s restaurant, where she’ll be “in residence” until Friday 22 June 2012. During the launch period, BOS will keep track of the Tweets and select spot prizewinners for those who make use of the hashtag.

Seriously some amazing work by BOS’ digital agency, Cow Africa, worked closely with UK-based social media agency, RAAK, to fully realise the Twitter integration.

Follow @BOS, or Like BOS on Facebook to keep up with BEV on her travels.
