A TRANCE-FUSION OF SUPERIOR CLUBBING AT ESP
ESP proudly presents the third chapter of Trance Fusion – TRANCE FUSION 3 erupts at ESP this Saturday, 2 July for another otherworldly dance experience.
ESP fans gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up for the first 2 very popular Trance Fusion parties – specifically the events’ intoxicating mix of a quality Progressive/Trance/Psy mash-up combined with House beats, across 2 dance floors. Dizzy & Groove Element’s marathon journeys through the progressive world of Trance also made the fans beg for more, and ESP agrees.
Long-time ESP regular Dizzy teams up with ESP resident Groove Element (DJ Morne) for the third time; for a marathon 4-hour, 1-on-1 set exploring new frontiers in trance. They are supported by Muzik and DJ Leo; while the House & Morning Sessions-floor thumps with pure party pleasure in the company of ESP residents Tammy B, DJ Amanda, Ben Rafferty, Brad Prolad, Dave Skinz, Stuart Hillary & special guest Keren Onay.
Tammy B and Brad Prolad recently joined ESP as part of the club’s permanent resident DJ line-up every Saturday, as well as all headlining at all the venue’s special events.
Tammy B earned her status as a fresh new tribal-tech house DJ, who was part of the original Divas On Decks-crew. She also formed part of the Twisted Sisters duo, which was one of the first acts to bring the international tech-sound to SA. More recently, she teamed up with Kirsti as Mayday Girls – a sexy double-barrel of girl power, complete with police-inspired outfits, handcuffs and sexy tech energy.
Producer/remixer Brad Prolad is recognized as one of the Johannesburg dance scene’s most innovative talents. Propelling listeners into the future of electronic music with his forward thinking concepts, he distorts the boundaries between artistry and Dj’ing with his creative house sets, and is also busy launching his own record label.
ESP resident Ben Rafferty spent five years in London, where he played alongside some of the UK’s top performers, including living legends such as Carl Cox, Armand van Helden and Sebastian Ledger, just to name a few. He has also played at top clubs such as Pacha, White House and Clapham Grand. Upon his return to SA, “being part of the local scene has given me the platform to develop my sound, and play alongside some of SA’s top DJs”.
DJ Amanda is another popular ESP resident and started her career as a deep house DJ in 2004. Apart from playing at many influential local clubs and events (including some international exposure), she is also known as quite a performer behind the decks, having supported international names such as Sebastian Ingrosso, Armin van Buuren and Fedde le Grand at ESP’s Slippery & Wet events over the years. Her style has developed into a distinct arrangement of vocal house that extends from the deeper side of things, right up to a funky electro and tech sound.
DJ, Producer, Music Journalist, DJ Store Owner, Promoter and “all round nice guy” are just some of the multi-faceted roles that ESP resident Dave Skinz is recognized for in his 15 year love affair with the electronic music scene in South Africa. When the sun sets, he is a top resident at one of the longest running clubbing brands in South Africa, ESP. When not cooking the ESP floors, Dave also throws his own small scale events under the brand name Skin.
ESP resident Stuart Hillary has become an iconic name on the “underground” house music circuit in South Africa, and is one of the key beatmasters that keep ESP’s Morning Sessions alive and rocking every weekend. He started his career in the early 1990s at some of the pioneering clubs that launched the house sound in South Africa – including Idols, Ms Henderson’s, Krypton and GASS/Therapy. He has produced various CD compilations, receives regular media attention and held a few prestigious international residencies as well; also having played at some of SA’s top events along with the world’s best.
Special guest Keren Onay is a popular DJ on the local scene with his fiery blend of groovy tech and soulful house. This unique fusion of dance music merged with a passionate persona creates an explosive experience for any crowd. He has featured along with local names Ryan Dent, Roger Goode, Dean Fuel, Ricardo Da Costa, and Guy Herman – as well as appearing at premier local club events during his 14 year career in the industry.
Dean John Athienides aka Dizzy has been cementing his reputation for the past 21 years as one of South Africa’s most successful and talented dance DJs; he is renowned for his versatility, as he is able to play a wide range of music: from progressive Electro House to Trance with a few diversions thrown in to make the dancefloor thump all night long. Groove Element (aka DJ Morne) needs no introduction to the clubbing scene in SA and has firmly established himself as one of the top DJs in Jo’burg and beyond. He has been entertaining us from behind the decks (and as producer) for the last 14 years, and continues to deliver with his diverse selection of blissful, cutting-edge music.
By making his club debut in 2009, MUZIK quickly became one of the faces for the future. His positive forward thinking approach and diverse selection of progressive house to driving trance has earned him that respect of his supporters by always delivering the best in quality dance music.
