DIZZEE RASCAL UPDATE

Dizzee Rascal has pulled out of a performance at Cool Britannia on 16th June 2010. A spokesman from Cool Britannia said; “It is unfortunate that Dizzee has pulled out of his performance with us in South Africa so abruptly. However, we are confident that our exceptional line-up in Cape Town – including Fatboy Slim, Estelle and Steve Sutherland among others – will be the ultimate event in the area to celebrate the wins, ease the losses and soak up all that is the World Cup 2010.”

Those who’ve purchased tickets for the Dizzee Rascal performance should go back to Computicket for a refund on the ticket price. They will also receive a free ticket for the opening show with Estelle.

Bafana Bafana, Estelle & Dino Moran kick off SA’ s biggest football and music fest on Friday 11th June! The local line-up for the 32-day party includes a huge variety of acts – from international award-winning rap artist HHP, Locnville, Karen Zoid, Jack Mantis, 340ml and Reburn to top DJ’s including PASCAL & PEARCE, DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Roger Goode, Black Coffee, Dino Moran, Dean Fuel, Crazy White Boy and Dr Duda. The opening act leading up to Grammy-award winning, Estelle, includes electronic quartet, Sterling EQ and sexy girl-band, La Vuvuzela as well as a fashion show by glam guru, Gavin Rajah who will show off South African designer collections with international DJ-models. Dino Moran will spin the decks after Estelle, keeping the party pumping until the early hours. Afroteq, his dance-music production will debut on the night.

All the matches will be screened live on six giant 8 metre screens throughout the event, and entertainment kicks off at 12 mid-day, going on until 3 a.m. A free zone inside the CTICC will host entertainment and a beer garden.

The full entertainment and match schedule is on the Cool Britannia website, www.coolbritanniasa.com. Tickets are on sale at Computicket. Media accreditation forms can be downloaded from www.globalicons.co.za and www.coolbritanniasa.com.

@Afrika Unite: I guess there is no point complaining, the line up is already set and nothing we can now, we threw our 2 cents in a couple of times and didn't get much in return from them. But I think the events will be nothing less then spectacular but from a clubbers point of you, I agree, I dont think they have done there homework to well. Cape Town knows how to party and knows and understands there music very well!

Dizzee pulling out is a not the best for them, but they got Die Antwoord instead. Goo enter the competition and see if you could win a chance to end up checking them or fatboy slim LIVE!
