TEDxCapeTown Official Afterparty

TEDx is a conference centered around sharing great ideas and in its second year of spreading powerful ideas to open minds has chosen to stick close to the words of Jazz Trumpeter, Louis Armstrong for its theme. “What We Play is Life” takes the session on a spirited journey across the spectrum of industries discussing why things work and what would make them work better.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.). TEDxCapeTown is already the talk of the town, with speakers across the spectrum of industry, from Alan Knott-Craig (World of Avatar + Mxit), Justin R. Melville (Airborne Music), Monique Scheiss (Africa Burn), and Emma Kaye (Bozza.Mobi) amongst others.

After every good idea, one needs to party and to round off a day of thought-provoking and inspirational stories there is going to a killer event at Chukkachurri in Green Point. The bill features some of the more revered names around- This is not an ordinary Afterparty. Just push PLAY.

Drinks and delectable snacks from the Il Leone kitchen for conference attendees between 7pm and 9pm. The venue opens to the public at R50 entry from 9pm onwards. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hout Bay Music Project. http://www.houtbaymusic.org
