Synergy Live 2011! Dirtyloud, F.O.O.L & Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Thumbs Up)
Kicking of summer in style is the festival we have all been waiting for. Synergy Live 2011 is back and with it a killer line up that will once again make it an unforgettable one! From the 25th to the 27th November 2011 kick ass bands will be available for your enjoyment, another Synergy Summer to make your holidays worthwhile!
Imagine a dark bar, raw energy and the pulsating of hard rock as it’s sways you and our international main stage headliner is introduced Black Rebel Motor Cycle.
Made up of Peter Hayes on guitar and drums, Robert Levon Been on bass, piano and vocals and drummer and percussionist Leah Shapiro BRMC has stood the test of time and came out a force to be reckoned with. For six months, Hayes, Been and new drummer Leah Shapiro, holed up in a basement studio together, during one of the coldest winters in recent history. In this house outside Philadelphia —the same place Howl was penned — they built their first album as a new band from the ground up. “It was like a family again, living together and working really closely like that,” Been says. “Something happened to us out there though, I’m not sure if we beat back our demons, or if we just let them take us over completely. But strange days make for strange times.”
Beat the Devil’s Tattoo is the band’s sixth album released in March 2010 and was billed as the album that brought back the prodigal sons (and daughter) keeping them ahead of their time. Grunge
The album sounds vintage, grungy, and dirty – some of the many characteristics that make BRMC one of the greatest rock and roll bands of this century. You’ll either love it or you love it; their music has a ‘niche’ sound that will make even the most ardent critics have a rock orgasm off the sounds of Black Rebel Motor Cycle.
Blazing the electro stage is the Brazilian duo made up of Marcus aka Jim and Eduardo aka Du as Dirtyloud. One of the hottest new electronic acts to emerge in 2010, Dirtyloud can count David Guetta and a slew of headline DJs among their fans, as they continue to kick out the jams from their studio in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Their jacking, tough yet effortlessly groovy sound has come to define the nu-electro style currently taking the world by storm.
Their assault on the sales charts on Beatport is just short of legendary, having up to 4 tracks at any one time in the top 10 electro-house chart, and having sat at no.2 on Beatport “all genre chart” for weeks at a time, their position as the purveyors of the most cutting edge house in the world today has been cemented.
SA’s own The Narrow headlines the SA contingent on Synergy Live 2011. The band received wide support for their debut Self Conscious, which spawned 4 singles in South Africa. The album was voted best rock album and was nominated for a SAMA (South African Music Award).Due to the popularity of ‘Self Conscious’,The Narrow decided to give the album a face lift in September 2005, it made sense to include tracks that were initially left off the first release. The re-release has now been re-mastered with new artwork, two extra bonus tracks and two music videos of their songs “The Banded” and “Push Up The Level”. The rest of the lineup includes Isochronous, Desmond and the Tutus, a King, Taxi Violence, Saint Fearless to name a few, on electro Brucewillis, Jam Jarr, Riot Squad, PHFAT, Double adapter just to name a few!!
