It’s that time of winter again so get ready for LOCKDOWN 8, this weekend.

Most of the psy-hype over the past few weeks has been around the secret warehouse venue for this years party…. (and Capt Zee) well, MyCity and Yours Truly overheard some very hush hush info and we’re going to share with you…..

This venue is less than 10 times, in rush hour I’m told, from MyCity center and so central you can connect to it from all the major highways coming into town.

But here’s the best news – Lockdown 8 will be the only winter gig to run past 4am. In fact, you can expect a full 20 hours of stomping, if you get there when the doors open at 5pm on Saturday.

That’s right, for those of you who are counting on your fingers, that’s means Lockdown ends at 10am, Sunday morning.

For those hoping to win tickets (or just get a freebie), a word of warning – comps are ONLY VALID till 1am. That’s it. After that, you get locked out (or you’ll have to pay the R120.00 at the door).

One last bit of insane news is the addition of one of the Mother City’s favourite producers/DJs, and best know for his proficient use of psychedelic Linguistics ….. (if you don’t know who I’m talking about, you are just not big enough a fan): Zion Linguist is back in town and he’ll be jamming with the best this weekend!

Dirty Motion is an act that needs little introduction – the only way to describe this collaborative project is EXPLOSIVE!

The combination of the raw combative fury of Hiyarant and the hauntingly eerie psycho-delic melody of Frozen Ghost produced such an intensely powerful sound, that in 2007 the duo teamed up to bring psylovers a Dirty Motion experience that is now a global and local phenomenon.

Hiyamyzo is the union of two antipodal forces of nature, who have proven without a doubt, that opposites attract.

27 year old Djane Myzo was born in Portugal. Her full on, banging night time style has earned her a formidable reputation.
She currently lives in Cape Town, where she focuses her energy on producing psytrance that is powerful with untamed feminine influences.

What she brings to the Hiyamyzo project is in stark contrast to what Hiyarant delivers. His intensely powerful style is driven by bold, yet emotional baselines tempered with insane psychedelics overtones.

Dani Filth, or as he is better known, Iron Lotus, began his journey towards the Psytrance culture in the early 1990′s with his passion for the Heavy Metal music scene.
His passion for Metal music instantly became the source that would soon have him learn to play the guitar, and subsequently play in various bands around Cape Town, South Africa.

The link between this extreme style of music and Psytrance is in the passionate energy that both styles share. An energy which had always seemed to draw Dani in, and so, in 2000, he naturally took a leap into the then, underground trance movement.

Fueled by it’s similar intensity and dark, powerful sound, Dani became increasingly immersed in the Psychedelic phenomenon.

In 2010 he began his solo act and so began the genesis of Iron Lotus.
He has since developed his own unique breed of ‘sinister night energy’. His style is dark and devastating…and by combining haunting leads, psycho twists and mechanical percussion with driving dark symphonic atmospheres, he has began to realise his visions for an epic and edgy nighttime trance experience .

An almost 6 year journey and after many dedicated hours in the studio, South Africa born Zezia has developed an uplifting, but fullon style production style characterized by banging groovy baselines, melodic leads and psychedelic beats.

At only 21 years old, Zezia still has a long journey ahead of him and if one thing is certain he is always ready to blow your mind with the upside down, twisted and bouncing beats of psychedelic trance.
