Jam Jarr

I had the pleasure of seeing these two guys live and in the mix at Assembly last Friday. Jam Jarr is made of two guys, Soundproof (Kieron Grieve), Bakaman (Paul Stubbs). I have known Paul for a long time, since school days and I know Kieron more commonly as Rubix Cube from his powerful sets on the trance floor.  I got a little bleak when I realised they were on the line up for the Village as I wasnt going to be arriving any where near in time for their set. Friday though, was insane… Paul stepped up and within seconds had the crowd eating out of his hands. He has this kind of voice that makes him sound more like he is telling a story than rapping and with the beats that Keiron is producing, they flow in the dopest possible way, even more so than I thought they would have. It was more then enjoyable to watch and level of production these guys are bringing to the table is top class, I can without a doubt say that these guys are going to be big! I was loving it…

Jam Jarr Biography:

A spasm of electronic, a shiver of dirty, filthy, salt up your nose kinda bass. Jam Jarr is a glitch-rap duo made up of Soundproof and Bakaman, and they’re here to tear your eardrums asunder with a cache of tracks ranging from dubstep to glitch-hop, and all the other beat-stops inbetween.

One producer, one MC, a bag full of death-defying bass and a tongue-lashing rap festival awaits.

Soundproof, also known as Rubix Qube, Phat Planet and a part of Biorythm brings the beats that he’s been putting together for the last six years, making waves in the trance scene and having traveled internationally for his flagrant skills.

Bakaman is a rhyme slayer of note. One arm of other glitched out groups Chamber Concept, and Spitshine. The kind of guy that’ll get your grandmother into rap music. Your girlfriend’s worst nightmare and the man to make you realize you and your friends can’t rap.

Take a little listen to what they producing if you have heard it yet. They describe their sound as “Glitch Rap Dubstep Kwaito Electro” Quite a mouthful, but their sound speaks for itself:
