I know that there were literally 100’s of gypsies in Jozi that were rather upset that they would miss out on the opportunity to get colourful like the Cape Tonians. Fret not Jozi Gypsies- the HOLI ONE Colour Festival will be coming to the concrete jungle on Saturday, the 6th of April at Emmarentia Dam, from 12:00 – 20:00.
As is the case with the Cape Town event, you can look forward to a day of top electronic dance music artists, exhilarating energy, and last but not least, throwing the colourful HOLI ONE powder in the air (read: at each other) on the hour, every hour, from 13:00 onwards. Yup, rad photos are on the horizon. Inspired by the original Holi Festival in India, the day is a huge fun-filled celebration of music and dancing, and has no religious aspects connected to it, but does share the same values in bringing people together in love and peace.
The HOLI ONE coloured powders are safe, water soluble, completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
If you would like to take part in the festivities, make sure you get your hands on the hottest ticket in town! Artist line-up to be announced soon!
