Good Bye Bang Bang Club!

I got some inside information from a reliable source within the industry that Bang Bang is closing down. It seems like we will be saying good bye to the Bang Bang club on the 11th of September. They will be having a closing down party that night as a proper good bye and send off to the club one last time.

The club will be closing on the 13th of September for structural changes and renovations and will be opening up again as a Jazz Club. I guess someone thought that would be a better idea for town right now. Who knows, it might work but it means its at the expense of Bang Bang. Oh well…

Another club bites the dust it seems. Bang Bang opened over 3 years ago in 2007 if I am not mistaken and has seen some HUGE international DJ’s play to a packed out crowd of people. Some of the biggest weekly nights have been run there and some are still currently running, such as Psynoptics, FML Fridays. Some of the classic night’s run at the Bang Bang included Get Dumb, Bliss and Anything Goes.

So I think we should pay our respects to this jol as it has had its good times, but I am also glad to see it go so those stupid bouncers are now jobless (yes I know, that is mean, but what evs)… I will miss the jugs that is for sure!

    i must admit i think it is a long time coming… the only good party at this place was psynopticz

    the management and bouncers had the worst attitude i've ever come across and being from joburg that says a lot! i think all they were intersted in was making money and unfortunatly this happens at the club goers expense! overpriced drinks, shit vibe, worst people!

    i have been punched in the face twice there! once i was actually involved with throwing the event on the night. both times i did not do a thing(literally) but ended up on the receiving end of a bad steriod and cocaine cocktail!

    Cape Town has no place for clubs like this

    That really is great news. James I feel for you, I have been hit by them too for nothing, bunch of wankers. The one manager was a right cock as well and no idea how to run a business!!

    I will actually go to the Jazz Club, buy a whiskey and smoke a cigar and enjoy every little bit of it.

    I only ever went there once but I absolutely hated it. Definitely a contender for the worst club in Cape Town.
