One thing was for certain whatever time you decided to go through to MMD; it was going to be damn hot. Regardless of this, if you were ready to have a good time; then it was time to go BACK TO THE PRIMATIVE. And believe me, the party didn’t disappoint. If you have been to the venue before (it’s the same venue that The Village was held at) then you know how great it is. The dance floor set in what seems like a cocoon of hills with a lovely dam at the top.
By the time I got there, the party was already in full swing. A slightly smaller crowd compared to the huge amounts of people that have been attending a majority of the parties this season which made for a more intimate setting. Only getting there on Sunday morning, I asked around to see how the party had been. Nobody had a single bad thing to say. They raved about the general music, the International SHEEHOOR and the general vibe of the party and I looked forward to seeing if it continued… And it most certainly did.
I don’t think there was a single point in time, while looking around the party, where I saw a frown or anything short of a huge smile on peoples’ faces and all of the DJ’s kept bodies moving; each in their unique way. The music was definitely some of the best I have heard this season, from all-time favourites, such as Super Evil – We Want Your Soul, to songs that you have only heard in your favourite dreams.
As I mentioned before; it was hot. Very, very hot. This however did not stop anyone from having a good time. People constantly taking dips in the dam, which literally felt like your life was being replenished into your body and cold drinks being served at the bar. Also, something that I have been eagerly waiting for, the organisers had set up a sprinkler system on the back of the rig. It was the best feeling in the world jamming to great music while a cool mist of water caressed your boiling skin. It also eventually made a mud pit which many people seemed to enjoy, plus it wasn’t anywhere near the DJ booth and subsequently nowhere near the equipment which I’m sure the DJ’s enjoyed!
Overall I think that this was one of the best parties and the organisers, the DJ’s and the people must all be commended on making MMD Back To The Primative a party that I will not forget!
Seeing as there were no lowlights, I thought a couple of highlights should be mentioned:
1) Deliriant- Fantastic to see him play a day set.
2) The sprinkler system
3) Sway- She played a killer set, including one of my favourite Dapanji vs Azax Syndrom tracks ‘Wake Me Up’ (Here’s a sneaky download for you guys)
