EFC 4: Mark Jones vs Brandan Katz

I am looking forward to seeing the follow up the Shaun Koen v Anton Taylor fight which took place on Saturday(will be posting it later this afternoon), but what I am looking to even more is EFC 4. On Thursday the 5th of August, EFC 4 will be showcasing some of South Africa’s top fighters.  The headlining fight is our boy Mark Jones (from the PFA gym in Gardens) against JHB fighter Brandan Katz. I watched the weekly show the other night where they did a little feature on the fight and Jonesy is looking mean. Check out the pre fight video presented by EFC Africa:

I wish the fights were in Cape Town, cause I would love to go and watch some live fights especially since Mark is the main fight of the night. I think Jonesy will take it. We got your back and wish you good luck from everyone here at MyCityByNight. We will be screaming for you when you knock him the $%^# out.

There is even word of myself and James from CapeTownAlive hitting the PFA gym for some training over the course of the next week

    Jhb mma fan: I heard he got knocked out with a nice upper cut, but the rest of the fight sounded very different. Apparently your boy Katz had two breaks inbetween the fight cause he was getting so badly beaten? Is that true? A re match is also on the cards? that true?

    I think the rematch in Cape Town is in order… from what I have heard it is NEEDED! Katz only sounds like a bitch to running to his corner 2 times in fight to get sorted out. A free breather during a fight is always needed, right?

    Not sensitive, just not ridiculously arrogant and brutish without cause. sure you have bigger pecs than me you rad guy, but couldnt quite be arsed to measure. keep up the good work awesome dude, the creatine brandmakers wouldnt survive without you. maybe if you spent half as much time arguing about some dudes fight than say… reading a book then you wouldnt be in this intellectual stalemate. couldnt care less about the fight, but jonesy seems to take care of his body hair way better!

    And come now Jhb mma fan… I think you would know very well that if it had gone to points mark would have won and with what 4 secs left he can consider himself lucky. How many stitches does Katz have again? I will give him one thing though he seems like a tough bastard in his previous fight he also had the tar beaten out of him and still went all 3 rounds!

    Big up to both fighters for an epic fight! if it does come round to a rematch… Shit I will most certainly be there!

    what are you smoking dude. Your boy was totally outclassed. Totally. He was outboxed, rocked twice and almost went down, had his back taken. Just watch the tape. It wasnt even close.

    He left the ring on a stretcher and i heard he was taken up in hospital. A rematch would end his career.

    @Mike: Outclassed? Outboxed? What were you smoking charna? Bring Katz down to Cape Town for a rematch and we’ll see if he (jones) career ends. I dont even think you watched the same fight. Sure Jonesy got rocked twice, we all saw that bud, but he carried on fighting and DIDNT go down.

    I also have to big up both fighters, Jonesy – unlucky… Katz – one helluva brawler, the guy can fight and think both of these two fighters are going to be big names in the EFC over the next few years.

    Looking forward to checking out EFC 5…

    Jokes aside, Jones is a tough dude for sure and has alot of talent. At the end of the day your boy lost fair and square. No one can change the result in your boy sleeping in the late 3rd round even though it should of happend sooner.

It was an epic fight… in my humble opioin 1st round went to jones 2nd to katz and the 3rd well guess we will never know… regardless, where is you attitude coming from? i never said anything bad about katz, in fact i commended him on being a hell of a fighter. There is nothing wrong with getting behind an individual and showing your support but ur little rant above makes you look like a real asshole!

    @ mike and as for your comment ‘end his career’ please man get a life! let me guess you are about 5 foot tall and really struggle with short man syndrome?

    @ jhb mma fan & mike dont know where all this hate comes from, i think both these guys are epic fighters! and deserve nothing but respect. i never said katz didnt deserve to win, so as difficult as it may be try show some class, and put a little more thought into ur comments because by coming on here and having an anonymous rant u just make ur self look like a tool ;)
