Cooling Towers Demolition – MCBN EXCLUSIVE
MyCityByNight got the privilege of going to the demolition of the Cooling Towers in Athlone with a special invite from ROSS Demolition!
It didn’t disappoint, unless you were not ready like some media companies! However, we were on it like a seagull on chips!
So here it is for your viewing pleasure! It happens towards the end of the clip, but enjoy it all anyway… you will then get the idea of why people missed it….
The FULL HD Clip is available here

Nicely caught!
Ahhhhhhhh Janet, I thought I would do the Table Mountain walk to the block house, but misjudged the distance, got there only to see the bottom of the second tower dropping and DUST! hahahaha… DAMMIT! This is a very good very I must say…
Hey whats up with a 5 min early explosion! swak one!
@Sally: What the hell???? I know… I was 3 seconds to late, but was so close… Oh well, always next year hey! hehehehehee
I had stopped on the highway, N2, just past Groote Schuur, ppl were everywhere, i stopped my car, waited 2 min, and happened to be looking at the towers when they went down. KAK 1 Kreg, i say you complain about them doing it early, and demand that it be redone for your enjoyment.
Can't believe I saw down in front of the tv five minutes early and MISSED it! Thank goodness for My City by Night.
neat post guys, thanks… I missed it so a little upset.
Thanks Bear and everyone else!

was worth the hike up the mountain and bone chilling wind.. the vibe up the mountain was awesome.. was hanging out with some Norwegian and Scottish mooiness.. just cool to see everyone one out on their bikes and bringing their dogs for the day
Gotta love Cape Town
Was good bumping into you up there Athini. Must say the vibe was incredible. Families riding bikes, so many guys on downhill boards, photographers, people filiming… it was festive to say the least. Still bleak I missed it by a few seconds, but luckily Stacky was on hand with a perfect view
