Cool Britannia 2010… Cape Town are you ready?!

To coincide with the absolutely huge spectacle of the World Cup, which is set to kick off in just over two weeks Global Icons of Cape Town, and Cool Britannia, a UK-based International events company with a decade of tricks up their sleeve with regards to organising the most awesome of events for all the football fanatics travelling to tournament host countries in the past- will be combining forces to turn the Cape Town International Convention Centre in the the HQ for football fanatics partying from 11 June – 12 July 2010.

The basic idea is a party that is going to be cooking from 12 noon every day well into the night hours for the entire 31 days that the World Cup is going to last. With different country based themes for each day (France-June 11, Argentina-June 12, Germany-June 13, Italy-June 14, Brazil-June 15, South Africa-June 16, Mexico-June 17, England- June 18, plan accordingly to your tastes hehe) fashion shows, food flavours from around the world, bands and djs, this is really going to be something like we’ve never seen here in the fairest Cape. Seriously- and just wait till you hear the line-up…
The International live acts include one of the current global hip-hop heavy-weights and MyCityByNight favourite, the stellar ”rudeboy” Dizzee Rascal (June 16 and the day that Bafana Bafana play and win- obviously)

-and then gracing the shores of the best city in the world for the first time, the LEGENDARY… wait for it… FATBOY SLIM!!!!!!!! (June 18- same day as the England game in CT- oh yes, get ready for the debauchery). Those joining us over here at MCBN at these parties during the World Cup period at Cool Britannia Cape Town 2010 will also be treated to Steve Sutherland, best club and radio DJ MOBO winner of four times as the headlining as DJ from June 13 to June 24 dropping a little bit of R&B flavour that will help us all ease the visitors into a party mood. Not like thats going to be a problem down here in Cape Town.

The local talent includes DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Roger Goode, Black Coffee, Tbo Touch, Liquideep, Dean Fuel, Ryan Murgatroyd and Neil Tall (for the seduction of the ladies). Some of the local bands performing include the awesome 340ml, Good Luck and Captain Stu.
Then there’s the fashion part of this awesome event… International designer Gavin Rajah has two fashion shows planned during the 31 days with June 11 featuring designers Hip Hop, Lalesso, Sun Things and garments from his own collection. A later show on June 15 will feature Craig Port, Elbeth Gillis, Scorpio and Hendrik Vermeulen as the main designers.
