Club Vibe… Is Coming Back!!
Club Vibe had a dominant run in the Cape Town nightlife industry from 1993 – 2002 having started from humble beginnings in the Lansdowne Industrial District. In a short space of time through a radical, innovative approach to clubbing – it gained a reputation for delivering an entertainment experience unlike any other. To this day, it is still held by many as the benchmark in nightlife, having pioneered the concept of themed events through the infamous 12 Hour Mega Rave™ parties, 16 Hour New Year’s Eve parties, Earthquake™ Experiences, Red Alert™ and Code Blue™ Matinees and even playing host to legendary event companies such as Pharcyde Productions (now Synergy Live™) on more than one occasion.
What made Vibe special was the passion and dedication of the people behind the scenes – driven by a simple, yet hard to master philosophy – excellent customer service, ultimate hospitality and a no-compromise entertainment policy, ensuring that anyone fortunate enough to walk through the door (some were luckier than others) immediately felt a sense of quality, wonder and belonging that simply did not exist anywhere else. We’re bold enough to say that it never has. Until now.
In 2012, the Club Vibe Legacy has been upgraded, re-loaded with next-generation advancements in entertainment and 20 years international event production experience by a well known European consortium. Preserving the core brand ideology while updating it for an evolved audience, both old faces and new guests was a key principle in the decision to acquire the iconic name Club Vibe. Our values are identical – and this makes it a logical match.
With our official re-launch taking place this Spring, we are following the 12 Hour format perfected by Club Vibe and have introduced a few fresh twists ‘n tails. An unprecedented artist line-up combined with live show elements and concert-level production design will finally give Cape Town music lovers the event they deserve, in the venue they deserve, brought by their most loved brand, Club Vibe.

Club Vibe was the best.
From Induland Crescent to the Castor Road venue, that club was home to some of my favourite memories.

HI GUYS AND GALS I WAS A PATRON AT THE NIGHTCLUB FROM THE LATE 90S IT WAS A HUGE EXPERIENCE FOR LOTS OF PEEPS THAT CAN REMEMBER. I PLAYED AT THE LAST REUNION WHICH WAS HELD AT THE SCARLET LOUNGE IN OTTERY (LAST YEAR)ALONGSIDE FAST EDDIE ON THE NIGHT IT BROUGHT BACK SO MUCH MEMORIES OF MANY SATURDAY NIGHT DISCO PARTIES HELD AT THE CASTOR & RIGEL RD’s IN THE LANSDOWNE SUBURB, IS THERE AN ADDRESS FOR THE NEW VENUE FOR THE NEW PLEASURE CAPITAL OF THE CAPE? Hells yes, this place (not only because it was just down the road) was my place of solitude, entertainment and even more – my inspiration to me during my teens from 14-18. Matinées from 14 and then later nights. Dj Eddie, Sam and Cat were my inspiration to begin Dj’ing and events.
Never optimistic about comebacks but I wish the lot of them the utmost best of luck and really hope they can pull it off and make the S/suburbs known again as a party central.

This sounds great!!! Although I am rather sceptical about such a major brand with and even bigger reputation making a comeback. Im sure many people that have heard about the re-launch of the New Vibe already have expectations that will not be met. We all have our own memories of 12 hour raves, matinees and all round nights of madness at the night club…which I personally think the “new” club will not top. Yes this was years ago and its hard to re-invent something that was so well known and loved by all, but will it really be what everyone is hoping for? OR is it just going to be another club that is hoping to make it by using the popular Vibe name?
I personally hope it doesnt turn into one of these pretentious nightclubs where you have to plan days in advance what you need to wear so you dont get “gated” at the door for your shirt or shoes. live up to name and the brand and you cant go wrong, stick to the things that made this place, slow song sessions, grease lightning number, jugs and bottle parties…
