Campus Invasion: Jozifest (Win Tickets)

JoziFest

I know sometimes you Jozi peeps feel like you get a little bit left out of the live music action with Cape Town getting most of the radness. Fret no more, as Jozifest hit’s the concrete jungle this weekend at Town Hall and in Newtown on the 16th of February 2013.

You’ll be able to catch performances from ISO, Goodnight Wembley, Naming James, The Black Cat Bones, Southern Gypsy Queen, Taxi Violence, Desmond & the Tutus and Shadowclub on the main stage. This, being the present (where people actually love dance music as much as we do) the likes of our boy Liver, Ross Jack, King Rat, Khumalo, Reepa,Twelv & Thesis,
and Julian Gomes will keep keeping everyone who digs their tunes faster than 100bpm, very happy inside on the dance stage.

Jozifest is part of the 2013 Campus Invasion tour (a crazy tour in the vicinity of seven national university campuses from 28 January to 16 February 2013 with an assorted mix of the best bands and DJs) and is brought to you by Student Village, Tuks FM, Hilltop Live (the legends behind Oppikoppi), Ticketbreak, MK and Axe Apollo, Smiroff Ice and Red Bull Mobile.  It looks like it’s a pretty solid line-up for a single day festival and you’re probably not going to find a better time out in Jozi on Saturday. A few weeks ago I was out drinking, woke up the next morning and had misplaced my liver. All my friends said I should give up the search, that it was a lost cause, that I would never drink again. Fast forward 2 weeks and up pops the Jozi fest flyer. Liver: 22-00, it’s him, I’ve found him! Unsurprisingly my friends think I’ve lost my mind, but my determination to drink again keeps my hopes high, and keeps be believing that this liver beats character is actually my long lost liver!

Hook me up you, I must know!

I need the double tickets for a friend and I to jam,
It’s her 21st so I wanna make it as awesome as I can.
I wanna let it all go
As I dance to the Black Cat Bones,
And forget about everything for a little while
As Naming James makes me smile.
I cant wait to rile out to Taxi Violence
As their awesome sounds kill the silence.
Khumalo’s gonna steal the show for a second,
But not from the Tutu’s and Desmond!!
I wanna feel the bass as Reepa reigns the crowd,
Feel the beat so hard and loud.
What better way to end off than with Shadow Club rocking the mic,
Please give me these tickets, you’d be making my life!!!!

How could you choose just 1!?! (o_O) There is going to so much amazing talent there you would be crazy if you only liked 1! That’s like only liking 1 flavour of ice-cream! INSANE I TELL YOU !! I can’t wait to see them all preform while I get my feet used to dance floor before I tear it up :P

  5. Ashleigh says:

  6. Fred Gatari says:

I will try persuade you with a bad joke.

Goodnight wembley, Desmond and the tutu’s and Shadowclub walk into a bar, the barman asks what brings you all here and after a long pause (insert long pause) they look at each other and in unison shout JOZIFEST!
    Boom.

Hahah even I wasn’t sure where I was going with that but hope you enjoyed it and deemed it worthy enough for some sort of hall of fame or at least some tickets whatev’s even a packet of chips would be cool.

All the cool things have been said…darn!! I do however, still wanna give it a go: last year was the first jozifest…I left pta aboard a rad party bus with my best friend. by the time we got to jozifest, I was all soaked up for a wicked jol!! It was crazy from the moment I got there, till the sad moment we had to leave…I got to meet MPI Project (Mr “We love bass”) I got to stand on stage and dance for a blackberry (I didn’t get one though *sadness*) but most awesome of all these things was being surrounded by people like me, I never knew so many of ‘us’ existed….jozifest 2012 was like a portal to a wonderland a gautrain and a few beers away from where I’ve always lived….it would only be fair that I find out what otherworldly realms the 2013 version will take me to…
Yours, ever so sincerely Puselaylay…..broke student not broken spirit :) *waits*
