Hidro

Having cut his teeth in the Cape Town party scene with Ricky Bynight and Kreg way back in 2001, Hidro has developed an unrelenting addiction to live-sports, nightlife, and debaucherous behaviour where he thinks it is permitted (but in reality is more than often not).

Having graduated from the University of Cape Town with an Honours in Business Science, Hidro left the Mother City to ply his trade in the Financial sector in the energetic Jozi in January 2009.

Having attained the auspicious feat of watching 18 live sports matches in 8 different stadiums around South Africa during 2010, Hidro loves everything live with a beer in hand (as it should be, barring when you’re operating heavy machinery), and a decent party afterwards to squeak tekkie.

Hidro will be reporting back on the goings on in Jozi, whether it’s the party vibe, the bloated amounts of live sports available, or where to eat when hungover.

He will also try, at times, to pass on some wisdom about life in the Gold City, such as why to take care offering to buy girls drinks in the Hyde Park Sun, why switching on autopilot while drunk in Sandton is never a good idea, and why getting thrown out of Tokyo Star every Friday for a month is not such a bad thing.

If you see Hidro out and about, introduce yourself and he/you can buy you/him Tequila. If he’s hugging a bar stool, don’t judge.
